¡Por fin ha sido confirmado! ¡Y en DOS PELÃCULAS!
El ganador de premios de la Academia Peter Jackson y New Line Cinema se unen con MGM para producir "El Hobbit," la aventura épica fantástica ansiosamente esperada.
New Line y MGM co-producirán y compartirán los derechos de distribución mundial.
Peter Jackson y Fran Walsh serán los productores ejecutivos de dos films basados en El Hobbit.

PETER JACKSON AND FRAN WALSH TO EXECUTIVE PRODUCE TWO FILMS BASED ON “THE HOBBIT”
Los Angeles, CA (Tuesday, December 18, 2007) Academy Award-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson; Harry Sloan, Chairman and CEO, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (MGM); Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne, Co-Chairmen and Co-CEOs of New Line Cinema have jointly announced today that they have entered into the following series of agreements:
* MGM and New Line will co-finance and co-distribute two films, “The Hobbit” and a sequel to “The Hobbit.” New Line will distribute in North America and MGM will distribute internationally.
* Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh will serve as Executive Producers of two films based on “The Hobbit.” New Line will manage the production of the films, which will be shot simultaneously.
* Peter Jackson and New Line have settled all litigation relating to the “Lord of the Rings” (LOTR) Trilogy.
Said Peter Jackson, “I’m very pleased that we’ve been able to put our differences behind us, so that we may begin a new chapter with our old friends at New Line. ‘The Lord of the Rings’ is a legacy we proudly share with Bob and Michael, and together, we share that legacy with millions of loyal fans all over the world. We are delighted to continue our journey through Middle Earth. I also want to thank Harry Sloan and our new friends at MGM for helping us find the common ground necessary to continue that journey.”
“Peter Jackson has proven himself as the filmmaker who can bring the extraordinary imagination of Tolkien to life and we full heartedly agree with the fans worldwide who know he should be making ‘The Hobbit,’” said Sloan, MGM’s Chairman and CEO. “Now that we are all in agreement on ‘The Hobbit,’ we can focus on assembling the production team that will capture this phenomenal tale on film.”
Bob Shaye, New Line Co-Chairman and Co-CEO comments, “We are very pleased we have been able to resolve our differences, and that Peter and Fran will be actively and creatively involved with ‘The Hobbit’ movies. We know they will bring the same passion, care and talent to these films that they so ably accomplished with ‘The Lord of the Rings’ Trilogy.”

The two “Hobbit” films – “The Hobbit” and its sequel – are scheduled to be shot simultaneously, with pre-production beginning as soon as possible. Principal photography is tentatively set for a 2009 start, with the intention of “The Hobbit” release slated for 2010 and its sequel the following year, in 2011.
The Oscar-winning, critically-acclaimed LOTR Trilogy grossed nearly $3 billion worldwide at the box-office. In 2003, “Return of the King” swept the Academy Awards, winning all of the eleven categories in which it was nominated, including Best Picture – the first ever Best Picture win for a fantasy film. The Trilogy’s production was also unprecedented at the time.

Estoy encantado con el tema, por ser una noticia largamente esperada.
Por encima de las pegas que le sacaremos en los detalles, de las pegas e incógnitas en lo fidedigna que sea a la obra, y de otros pormenores para los cuales ya tendremos tiempo de debatir y criticar, me parece una estupenda buerna nueva.
También me satisface que si alguien tiene que dirigirla, que sea el propio P. Jackson.
¡Genial! Lo cierto es que yo había perdido todas las esperanzas de verla rodada. Pero supongo que no podían dejar semejante filón :-]
De todos modos, y pese a que temo llevarme una decepción, lo cierto es que ahora mismo estoy deseando que empiecen a rodar. Que ganas de verla ^^
Me encanta esta noticia, a ver si con ella vuelve a rebosar EAU de vida como no hace mucho tiempo, cuando la fiebre por las pelis de ESDLA aun coleaba
aiss… ¡no creo que pueda esperar ese par de años para poder verlas! :-] Sin duda era una película que muchos esperábamos, y al menos Peter Jackson no dejó tan mal las peliculas del señor de los anillos (a parte de algunas cosas que no fue a gusto, pero en general resultaron bien).
Elfo negro porque dices que no sabes si es buena idea lo de las peliculas?
Que por cierto, ¿por qué dos? tanto argumento hay en El Hobbit para dos peliculas…espero que no se invente ninguna trama extraña para la segunda pelicula.
Me alegra un monton la noticia la verdad tenia mono de peliculas de esta saga por mi que hagan dos y 200 , jeje .Haber si dan mas detalles y la tenemos al ño que viene :-] :-] :-] :-]

Bueno, leyendo entre líneas, lo más probable es que Peter Jackson no vaya a dirigir las películas, porque si no ya lo habrían anunciado en la nota de prensa. Sobre lo de hacer dos películas…. en su momento leí que querían meter toda la trama del Concilio Blanco, de la reaparición de Sauron en Dol Guldur.. etc.
Me sé de un montón de actores que están preparando un sablazo de los que hacen época, porque uno ya no se imaginaría a otro Gandalf que no fuera Ian McKellen, un Bilbo que no fuera Ian Holm, o un Elrond que no fuera Hugo Weaving, y cómo no, Andy Serkis haciendo de Gollum. Y si se confirma lo del Concilio Blanco, pues hay que sumar al carro a Christopher Lee y Cate Blanchett. Y bueno, lo lógico es que aparezcan también Liv Tyler (aunque sea en plan cameo) y Orlando Bloom.
En fin, quedan muchos meses de rumores.

La verdad es que estoy encantado con el asunto, pese a que temo -ojalá me equivoque- que los films bien perderán la mayor parte de la magia con respecto al libro o bien quedarán demasiado infantiles para dos largometrajes como los esperados por la gente (o quizá las dos cosas… ¡espero que no!).

Aratir, decía que no sabía si era buena idea rodar "el Hobbit" porque no sé que tal resultará en pantalla: el libro es un tanto infantil y tiene personajes rocambolescos (como el cambia pieles Beorn y sus solícitos animales).
Es decir, si son fieles al libro puede ser una ñoñería infantil y si lo hacen al estilo de ESDLA se apartarán del libro de Tolkien.
Así que se van a tener que desplazar al filo del abismo, con peligro de tortazo estrepitoso.
sencillamente habra que esperar pero la cabeza me un vuelco pensando el porque real de dos peliculas(aparte de la millonada de dollares que se van a meter) espero que no la modifiquen mucho y que a mi el tiempo y los dragones no me lleven y pueda verlas.

Viendo la web theonering.net parece que el proyecto tiene muy buena pinta y no creo que al final quede muy infantil. Será el hobbit y más xD.
No entiendo muy bien el motivo de partirla en dos (a parte del tema económico claro xD), a no ser que incluyan lo que dice esa web, entonces si les da para tanto. Tal vez ahora expliquen en detalle la relación de Aragorn y Arwen. Confío que en general no haga nada extraño. De momento le voy a dar un voto de confianza

Pero si en la nota oficial dicen que están encantados de que vuelva y que debe ser él quien se encargue de ello, e incluso reconocen que aceptaron que los fans de todo el mundo pidieran que la hiciese él O_O. ¿Quien la rodaría entonces? Sam Raimi?? Joé yo creo que los fans nos referíamos a que la rodase él…

aunque debo admitir que es mi libro preferido de tolkien. es decir, el mejor es esdla, pero por hondo que me llegó fue el hobbit. Con peter Jackson al frente nada me asusta, es el mejor director que conozco y un gran fan de Tolkien como nosotros. Por eso creo que intentará hacerlo tal y como a los fans nos hubiese gustado.
Tampoco entiendo muy bien por que dos peliculas, porque el hobbit es pequeño y la historia no muy larga. Pero en fin…. seguramente será una buena película.
Yo estoy emocionada. Solo falta saber fechas e ir ahorrando jajajajaj.
